Ice Dining

One of my "hope to visit places" is a hotel made of ice. I thought there was only one in the world - in Norway. While surfing some travel sites, I came across a list of luxury ice hotels. I thought it would be fun to share some pictures of 5 star ice dining.

Hotel - Lumi Linna, Finland

Every piece of furniture in ice hotels is made of ice.  The benches are covered with animal pelts to prevent a cold bottom.

Notice the beautiful sculptures in the ice and the careful placement of light.

I love red doors and these are the coolest red doors I have ever seen, pun intended. Each red door leads to a suite.

Above is the chapel. I imagine a bride in a beautiful white winter wedding dress with white fur cuffs or a white fur coat walking down the isle. What a destination wedding site, don't you think?

This bedroom actually looks warm. All ice hotel beds are made of ice and covered with animal pelts.

Schneedorf Hotel, Otztal, Germany

I wish the pictures were more focused. I love this dining room.

All of these 5 star ice hotels offer three course meals.

Here is the honeymoon suite.

White Lounge Hotel Zillertal. Austria

I love the pink light and candlelight effect.

Above is a group or family suite for four.

Iglu Dorf, Switzerland

I love this dining room. Each table has privacy due to the multiple levels and walls.

Doesn't that white rug look comfy and warm.

Hotel De Glace , Quebec Canada

I think this is my favorite ice hotel dining table. It looks so elegant.

Here is a close up of the wood stools and pelt coverings.

Now this is a pink bedroom!

This is my favorite ice hotel bedroom. So elegant. It is hard to believe there is a fireplace being used here.

Hotel Kakslauthlanen,Finland

Is this not the greatest bedroom? What an incredible view of the stars.

Or what about the Northern Lights?

Here is the dining hall which holds 150 people.

Check out the drinking glasses - made completely of ice of course.

I am linking this post to Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday.

Hope you enjoyed your visit. Thanks for stopping by.

Awesome post! I'm heading up to Alaska next month and one of the things I am going to see is the ice sculpture contest! I love these hotels. Great post!

Amazing!!! I would love to visit any one of those places! Not so sure about that ice bed, though...I like a firm mattress and all, but that's taking it a bit far! :-) Have a great weekend!

That's fabulous but not on my list. We about have that here in Florida this winter anyway. Gorgeous photos.

This is quite beautiful...but....I....could....NOT....do....this! Gosh I'm shivering just looking at the pictures! Although it would look more appealing in the Summer, I'm sure.

Gorgeous photos...I've seen coverage on the ice hotels in years past...never had a desire to go. I so dislike being cold. You go for me and tell me all the wonderful things that you discover. Thanks for sharing all the amazing photos. Cherry Kay
